I will be teaching in Guizhou province from September onwards, and will be finishing my TEFL training in Beijing beforehand. At the training camp in Beijing, we are expected to teach classes for two weeks, and I am currently in the process of planning these lessons. However, the only indication of the skill level of the students we will be teaching is their age; 14 to 17. I have been unable to find anything specific on what level of English to expect from them, though I assume they'll be at a level a fair bit below that of a European ESL speaker? My Norwegian cousins of 13-15 are pretty much fluent. I don't want to make the lessons too basic and thus boring, but I am worried I am going into too much detail too early, and thus alienating them to the language.
