How long to get a job in Korea?

I'm a prospective teacher looking at taking a month-long TEFL course before going over to Korea this fall. I have the option of taking the course in May, June, or July.

I currently have a job now, but I don't want to leave it before I have to. I'd like to have the TEFL before I start looking, though. How long should I expect to hunt for a job in Korea? I'd probably be looking at hagwons. I'm not too picky about salary, but I would want a place that pays for my ticket there.

The visa process takes longer and longer, what with the criminal record check and all, so I'd say the sooner the better.

The process from beginning to get your documents to securing a job to arriving in Korea is around 3 months. Start getting your documents ready now as you won't be considered for jobs unless you already have them ready.
