In general South Korea is quite developed, so you can choose any destination within South Korea as long as you are finding the kind of job that best fits your interests.
public or private schools?
Both are equally good. However I have seen more openings from public schools.
what are the kids like to teach?
Kids are just like any other ESL learners.
what are the people generaly like?
People are Quite Friendly and Helpful. It takes a little time to settle down in s.korea.

I haven't heard much about fake schools. One is safe as long as they choose a right recruitment agency. Park English Recruitment Agency helped me find a good english teaching position in South Korea.

I hope this helps.. Peace..

Are you sure you don't work for Park English, Peter? I've never known someone to have their former recruiter's link in their signature, and your English seems a little non-native
