Can you help me choose a workbook?

Hi Lucy,
can you recommend workbooks for students to work with during classes. There are so many out there the choice is overwhelming (Cambridge series, Cutting edge, The English File etc).
I would like something practical, that provides a good basic grounding, but that is also fun and user-friendly.

It will be to supplement classes (private lessons) for Greek students of varied ages and levels to top-up/improve their English.

Many thanks.

Workbooks

Dear Rhiannon,

I like the workbooks that accompany The New Cambridge English Course.

I think they cover various aspects of language and skills: vocabulary, grammar, phrasal verbs, reading, writing and even listening (in which case students would also need a cassette).

I think they fulfil the criteria you mention: user-friendly, practical and they cover the basics. There are exercises you can do in class and others students can do alone for homework.

You could also consider the English File workbooks.

Good luck and best wishes
