Hi,
A school requested for a 10 to 20 minutes intermediate grammar lesson for my teaching demonstration, but I'll only know the topic on the day itself. I have little teaching experience and am clueless about preparing for this lesson.
Is this normal practice?
There will only be one learner who is the interviewer himself/herself; really demotivates me.
Any advice please? Thanks.

A school can give any type of test during the hiring process; I've been through some really strange ones. It's normal for an interviewer to act as a student during such a test.
In this example, they're testing your ability to prepare a lesson at the last minute, spontaneously.
The best thing you can do is to read up on various ways of presenting grammar and to review basic intermediate grammar. At least they've told you the level you'll be teaching and what aspect of language. Make the most of that knowledge.
