Excluding all the TEFL working hype of sun swept beaches and adventure in Asia, here’s a short article I put together summarising the pitfalls of job seeking. Focusing on suitability, rather than possibility; the article throws questions at the applicant, instead of the usual recruiter ‘all welcome’ hype.
So here it is:

Re: TEFL job seeking, your suitability
Great article by John and I recommend any of those currently seeking to teach English as a second to read and understand the two articles. There are many scams that plague the ESL industry because people are often going overseas to a place they have no contacts, no knowledge of, and no backup plan once they arrive. In other words, easy pray.
However, with the right amount of research and fact checking, these scams can be avoided, so please do not be discouraged. Teaching English in new exotic places will be one of the greatest experiences of your lives!
Just my two cents,
Trema

Thanks Trema,
The above article has been discontinued, but . . . From across the Internet I hear tales of woe and a longing to exit the collectivised food kitchens, mass unemployment and highly taxed socialist paradises of the west. That’s no bad thing and so I’m in the process of constructing an article based forum around politics, emigration, employment and education; a kind of explanatory roundup of the articles I have scattered across various sites.
