How can I improve reading comprehension for students in fifth grades?

Hi Shir,
Reading comprehension relies on rich vocabulary and understanding of syntax, context and structure.
I believe in learning through experience, therefore "letting the kids play" with words, brainstorming with them about the origin of new words, letting them explore rather than recite - i believe is a way to produce good readers, perhaps even good writers as well...

As stated above, vocabulary is the key for improving reading comprehension.
