How to get students connected online safely

What do people suggest? I suggest PikiFriends, not only because I made it but because it is one of the only places I've seen that adequately protects young students. What other options do we teachers have?

Before you reply, make sure the site you suggest doesn't require student contact info, doesn't allow students to send private messages or chat (can't monitor = not safe), if a member's forum it should properly screen new memberships, teachers should be able to monitor their student's connections, there are no inappropriate ads, nothing to do with taking cash from students in any way, and the privacy policy must be easily available and very easy to understand.
