ESL Books

Hello. I have a quick question for you teachers. I wonder if you can recommend any ESL books? An institute here in Brazil is on the verge of creating an English department and they asked me (the only native speaker for miles and miles) to choose the book(s). I was leaning towards one of the books in the Cambridge series, but maybe you have a better idea.

Happy to hear any suggestions. Even if you want to tell me what NOT to get, I'd like to hear.

Thanks very much. Luckily, I was given a near unlimited budget for this project, so kind of went crazy with the Cambridge series. Some of the newer books they put out seem pretty interesting.

Well, nothing is easy. Any suggestions on Brazilian suppliers of Cambridge ESL books? I know this is a long shot, but Cambridge does not ship to this continent.
