DUI on record....

Hi all, I have a DUI on my record and was hoping to return to TEFL, possibly in Argentina or Chile, but was told by a recruiter it may be a problem. I have experience teaching English in Guatemala, but I landed that position through a personal contact and the DUI never became and issue. Should I worry about this while looking for jobs?
