Which Countries accept online cert??

Unread post by jpeterson »

I am wondering if anyone knows which countries, specifically in Europe, would be most likely to accept a candidate with online TEFL certification? If anyone knows from experience that would be great.

In Europe, many schools ask for a CELTA, Trinity, or equivalent. Ontesol's 250-hour online course with practicum is one of the only online courses in the world that is equivalent to Trinity and CELTA. It's recognized by TESL Canada Professional Standard 2 and is an extended version of Coventry House International's 5-week Trinity CertTESOL program.
Schools in France accept almost any certificate. A 100-hour course without teaching practice is enough in many German, Spanish, and Italian schools.
It is a biased opinion on my part, but you can read in other threads that you would be doing a great favour to your students if you took an advanced course.
Also, do consider that you need a EU passport to teach in Europe as well as a BA.
