A friend of mine looked into the Masters in TEFL and chose the one from Aston in th UK based on it being cheaper. He is doing it through distance learning. Is it worth doing this? Is a distance learning masters going to help you get work in Europe, S America as well as Japan? Is the DELTA or the diploma in TEFL one third of of the Masters and does it contribute towards it?

My friend also said that an employer would never know if the masters was distance learning either because nothing is written on the final certificate to say so. So you could say you studied on site. Is this true? If you drop out of the course will you only have to pay a third of the fees?

A university degree from a fully accredited university , is a degree, whether distance or not. The subject being studied may however require some on-site research, although the basic tuition and acvademic support is by distance.

As regards how much you will forfeit if you don't complete the cours, you will have to take a look at the univerity's Terms & Conditions of enrollment - easy enough to find out.
