Does anyone happen to know if this is a legitimate course/certificate?

Hi Melissa, I saw that you are interested in working in Russia or Ukraine. Over there, they require a minimum of a 100-hour TESOL/TEFL certificate and if you take an online course, they will ask you if you have any teaching experience or if you have completed a practicum module (class observation and teaching practice).

i do have experience but only with children. I'm currently going to school online for a bachelors in psychology/early childhood development. I am currently a nanny, but have experience teaching preschool. do you think that would be adequate?

You'd need to take the practicum if your experience is not specifically related to teaching English.

For Russia or the Ukraine an online course is acceptable so an in-house course is not mandatory. For both countries the minimum requirements are a degree and TEFL cert (online or in-house) and there are schools in Russia which will accept teachers even without a degree.
