How to tell if a course is reputable or not? (Hungary)

Unread post by Brodel »

I live in London UK but would like to take a part time TEFL course in Budapest. I found the course on Cactus TEFL ( http://www.cactustefl.com/tefl/course.p ... se_id=1845 ) and the schools is International House Budapest ( http://www.ih.hu/index.php?lang=eng ).

How do I know if it is a well recognised place to take my course? Part of the appeal of doing it in Budapest is that it will be a good experience, i've been there before and enjoyed it and I have a few Hungarian friends that live in Budapest so it seems like a good chance to experience something different whilst getting the qualification. That being said, I do not want to end up with a qualification from a school that is not that well recognised or respected and I don't know where to find out this information.

Thanks for your time.

Take a look at http://teflcoursereview.com where former students rate the TEFL courses they've just taken.

Is the school there?

thanks for the reply :)

I took a look at that website and it does review the company (international house world) but the only review is of one person that took theirs in Spain ( http://www.teflcoursereview.com/interna ... use-world/ ) Although they seem happy with it, it's quite general and for all I know the situation in Hungary could be very different.
