Advice regarding CELTA interview.

Unread post by simpler »

Having got past the application stage,
I have my CELTA telephone interview on Monday.
Despite knowing the school is a business, I am getting a little nervous about how much grammar awareness I'll need for the telephone interview.

I know next to nothing about English grammar. I would not know the "simple continuous tense" if it slapped me.

Is it worth me swotting this weekend to get my awareness up to a certain level? Does anyone have any reliable internet links or books I should read.

I would be gutted if I didn't get on on to the course.

Just be honest. They will not flunk you because your gramamr is bad (theoretical part of it) unless you do not have the language to take part in the course. Be honest with them and do not overwork with preparation. The course is to help you learn things you don't know.

And just for the record. You were completely right. I got through! Nothing to worry about!

Looking forward to it very much.

Congratulations! I took my IHCTL (International House Certificate in Teaching Languages to Adults) in 2006 and I enjoyed every day but it was hard work! A month fell out of my life :-) But it was worth it!
