Thank you for the reply. I agree with your statement. I am currently teaching in China and a lot of the text books here have errors. This question was posed by a student to the head of our school who in turn asked myself. What I want to find out is why , in this sentence, one would say "on memo...

"In memory" vs "On memory"

Why would one say "She prepared the words to impress them on her memory." As opposed to "She prepared the words to impress them in her memory"?
Or could both be used?

In vs on.

Is it "I'm in the swimming team." Or "I'm on the swimming team."? If both are okay, is it just because of the difference between British English and American English?

Thank you for the prompt reply. It was actually a job description sent direct to my inbox, not one from an ad. Does that make any difference, or are messages automatically deleted from my inbox after a certain amount of time?
