Hello,

You said that the learner have some knowledge already.That is good because that won't be a challenge for you.Find out his weaknesses and concentrate on that.If he is weak in vocabulary/grammer,spend more time for that part.

Teaching grammer to Kindergarten is a completely no no.They are too young to understand.How can someone teach grammer like nouns,verbs,adjectives etc when the kid is still learning "A for Apple","B for Bat" etc??

While writing "My name is" is correct and it should be wriiten like that.It is a formal way of writing .
While saying,it is heard as "My name's",here "name" and "is" are compressed.If written,it becomes informal.

"he's" means "he is".Its is the short way of writing "he is".
Eg:-He is going to Los Angeles.
He's going to Los Angeles.

"his" means anything belonging to a person.
Eg:- She is his sister.
This is his book.
