ENGLISH TEACHERS FOR SRI LANKA
We are seeking native-speaker English teachers for adults and children in our learning centre in Panadura, Sri Lanka. We are keen to hear from outgoing, enthusiastic, reliable people who are CELTA or TEFL qualified with previous English teaching experience and who would love to integrate in a different culture and community.
Qualifications:
Preferred:
1. Minimum First Degree level of study.
2. CELTA with or without overseas English teaching experience
OR TEFL/ TESOL with minimum one year overseas English teaching experience.
3. Outgoing, enthusiastic and reliable.
4. Cognizant of different cultures and communities.
5. Enjoys challenges and new experiences.
Compensation:
Return flights, all visa costs and shared accommodation are provided by Strathfield. You will be met at the airport and can depend on a British in-country support person. We require a one year commitment. You are expected to work a 40-hour week and may enjoy 3 weeks holiday per year. A local salary of SLR 40,000 per month (with annual increments) allows you to live modestly and be able to visit the idyllic and cultural spots around the island in your free time.

ABOUT US
Strathfield Centre of Learning in Sri Lanka is a newly established educational facility meeting the high demand for English instruction and computer training in the locality of the western coastal town of Panadura.
We are a small school, currently with a staff of 6 who manage and conduct instruction, but we take pride in our friendly personal approach and flexibility. We also pride ourselves on having a good range of courses for a variety of ages and types of learners ranging from school children to adults, including mothers and working ladies; senior citizens; under graduates; expatriate communities; corporate groups; and we will even take our English instruction to out-station venues if there is a sizeable class of learners.
In addition to four levels of General English, we also offer English for Academic Purposes, English for Specific Purposes, IELTS preparation and Spoken English for Young Kids. Furthermore we offer courses in basic computing and our computer lab is open for enrolled students to complete ‘teacher-set’ homework, check e-mail and browse the internet.
