ESL Job offered UK. General and Business English Teachers

You are expected to teach English to a consistently high professional standard, maintain a student-centred approach and to base your actions around what matters most to them and to maintain and raise the standard of teaching and care in the school as well as contribute to the development of the school.

Duties and responsibilities:

-To ensure that lessons are well planned and prepared, with coherent aims so that teaching is effective, corresponds to the needs and expectations of students and lessons are interesting, relevant and enjoyable.
-To contribute to the development of the curriculum and materials.
-To conduct tutorials to establish individual students’ goals and support and advise students in their achievement, helping them set targets to make progress and move up to the next level.
-To set and correct homework regularly and to return marked writing within two days.
-To ensure that lessons and breaks start and finish in accordance with the school timetable or an agreed variation.
-To participate in meetings and other activities (including staff meetings, 1-1 meetings) with the Course Director.
-To complete class registers daily, accurately and in class; to complete class diaries daily after each class.
-To liaise with Client Services in relation to student welfare such as accommodation issues.
-To carry out such other duties as the Academic Manager and school may require

-To arrive at least 15 minutes before your first class. You are expected to be punctual for all classes and be in the classroom by the start time with prepared materials/resources.
-To encourage a high level of attendance in class.
-To maintain a friendly, positive and sensitive attitude towards students and colleagues.
-To observe a high standard of dress and appearance.
-To make suggestions for, and participate in, improving courses and student services.
-Teachers should adhere to the Code of Conduct at all times.
-Teachers are required to assess risk and act accordingly.
