Adjectives of personality opposites storytelling and tennis games
Worksheet 1
Warmer- Opposites Tennis
Play a game of “opposites tennis”. The person serving has to say a word that has an opposite, e.g. “hot” (cold), “black” (white) or “right” (wrong, incorrect or left). The person returning has to say any word which is the opposite that word. If they can’t think of an opposite but the person who served knows one, the server scores points tennis style. If they do give an opposite within the time limit, the server must continue the rally by giving another word that has an opposite within 20 seconds.
Unlike tennis, in this game service changes sides after every point.

(This worksheet was written to tie in with Face2Face Pre-Intermediate Units 6B and 6C, but can easily be used without the book. If students do have the book, they don’t have to use the same personality words for each person as are written in the book. After all the activities here, they can listen to Tapescript 6.5 and check if anything happens the same in the real story and their stories)
