It’s the end of an era
Not only is the pink bunny waving its (his?) sad goodbye, but Mark and Mary Devlin have decided to sell Metropolis. So that’s two mainstays of gaijinhood gone in just two weeks. Coincidence?
Well, yes, probably. Although I do have a theory on why they have sold up that I am almost certain you won’t be reading anywhere else- because the job of running Metropolis has been reduced to the monkey work of just copying what us bloggers and forumists are writing. Evidence for the prosecution number one- almost exactly a month after I wrote the first and only reference to Urayasu Tekkin Kazoku in English on the web, Metropolis have written a whole story on it! Coincidence?
Well, okay, maybe. Still, it’s a good excuse to recommend some other good manga for those, like me, who don’t usually like comics:
2oth Century Boy (Nijuu seiki shonen) by Naoki someone
A robot based one based on Tetsuka Osamu characters by the same author
Koukou Afro Tanaka (and the later Chuutai Afro Tanaka and Joukyou Afro Tanaka)
Homunkulo
That’s about it, but by lucky coincidence they all come out in the same weekly- Spiritsu
