TEFLing quote of the day
“Our profession is notorious for exploiting its most valuable asset – language teachers – for financial gain. I remember a teacher recalling taking a summer job where he and his fellow teachers struggled to teach competently in a school with sub-standard facilities and scant resources. He had a vivid memory of the owner arriving in a Rolls Royce and announcing that further cost-cutting measures were necessary. I think that says it all.”
Sounds like TEFLtrade is back on the case…
…but no! This is from an interview with the author Rose M Senior on the official CUP website here. So maybe TEFL isn’t a class war after all?? Or maybe the big publishers are actually on our side?? Can it be true? Oh, it’s all so confusing for a TEFL teacher just waiting for Friday and then remembering he works Saturdays now…
Anyway, a good interview about what sounds like a very good book- “The Experience of Language Teaching“. Might be able to get one of you a freebie copy if you agree to review it for TEFL.net reviews.

Humanistic language teaching, hmm.
Buildings fall down and nobody wants to know WHY.
Headway Advanced is WHY.
Head and Way, it’s obvious.
