When I am TEFL President
After much press speculation, I have finally decided to throw my hat into the ring and join the race for the TEFL World President elections in 2008. Although it would probably be a better idea not to have policies if I want to get elected, I have laid out my vision for the future of our profession already in my first stump speech, printed out in full for my adoring public on TEFLlogue, home of the forthcoming presidential debate.
Before I build up a commanding Hillary-type lead in the polls, I suggest all other candidates lay out their policies here, on TEFLlogue or on their own blogs, so that I can send out my minions to start finding the skeletons in all your closets.

Thanks for letting the TEFL Logue publicize your platform! I wish you the best in the race and will accept an important office in your administration in exchange for not running against you…

Hmmm, one usually tries to keep such dodgy deals secret. What position do you fancy anyway? Cabinet Secretary for Advice for Noobs is still going…

Oh, now that Sandy has suggested himself as Vice President, that’s what I want too! I’ll see if he and I can work out some agreement, we will see…

Oh, I see I have (been) misunderstood - or perhaps it would be better to say ‘misled’? In that case, I have no alternative but to put forward my own nomination for TEFL President - myself!
I’ll see off the pathetic whinger ‘HeadCase’ and his floozy of a running mate, ‘Kate the Mate’ (the dirt’s starting to fly already, see?). I’ll have them running scared!! Its Sandy for Pres, and my mate Richard Flynn (he of UsingEnglish.com fame) for VP! Somebody go tell him…

Oh, and another thing: Craig Murray will be my campaign manager.
Don’t just sit there gawping, google it!!

Looks suitably disreputable to be running your campaign, Sandy:

Aah, I see that the vile slurs and calumnies have started already. Click on the link for a better view of Craig “Hot Stuff” Murray wearing his campaign outfit…

Looks like I have developed an impressive lead already!

And I still haven’t made it back from the beach yet!
Anyway, just a couple of calls to the right people should sort this thing out. Then you can ‘retire’, my dear Mr HeadCase…

Okay, I think I’ve manipulated Sandy into entering the race somehow via email. I don’t want to give away too much, but his commitment has been made!

So, Sandy’s campaign manager is a man wearing a skirt and his official campaign site shows a picture of 3 toilet cubicles. The question we all have to ask ourselves is- Is this man a secret Republican?
October 15th, 2007 at 6:42 pm
I object to the use of that phrase - “a secret Republican”. I’ve been a republican all my life, and an anti-monarchist too! And it’s been no secret, either!!
See how quickly the pond-life resort to using libel, slander and gross innuendo? Makes you wonder why, eh?

Sandy wouldn’t be confusing Republican with republican would he? What you have to ask yourself, TEFL voters, is- do you want a TEFL World President who doesn’t understand the basics of punctuation? Or to put it another way- isn’t one Dan Quayle enough?

Wouldn’t that make me the potatoe head VP?
October 16th, 2007 at 10:13 am
Does that mean you have officially decided to run as Sandy’s poodle then? If so, I will of course start looking out for any errors of spelling or grammar of yours- more shocking for the average TEFL voter than dodgy uses of cigars, that one!
