Teaching English in Spain Links
Recently stumbled upon a few blogs on this subject due to them linking to me (hint hint), and here they are:
The Pain in Spain (the earliest posts are the best for getting an overview of teaching in Madrid)
A Small Flaking White House in Lost Spain (doesn’t have quite enough stuff about teaching to make typing that name out more than once in full worthwhile, but what I’ve read I’ve liked, so try browsing a relevant category or two):
And, unusually for a readable blog, the Academia’s point of view:
And not a blog, but seems like a great guide and list of links:
MadridTeacher.com (including links to the most informative bits of the Pain in Spain blog)
Recommended by them for serious teaching advice, and must be a good place because it has a few of my articles on it:
And while I’m doing my best impression of pumping my chest up with self pride like a male flamenco dancer, I also get a sticky at the top of Rave Spelling’s ESL Au Lait Spain page:
And all the below come to you due to my application of the best instant blog post method in the world- do a single Google search (Teaching English in Spain)- and filter out all the obvious crap (and there ain’t ‘arf some crap- the word “lucrative” even comes up in the ones I left out!):
Spain Expat- Teaching English in Spain- A Warning
Expatriate Cafe (despite the name, specifically about Spain and mainly about teaching, but a bit out of date)
On TransitionsAbroad:
Making it as a freelance English teacher in Spain
and links to various other short articles on Valencia etc
And that really does seem to be it for sources of possibly useful advice (but more suggestions always welcome), so instead a bit of a nostalgic recommendation:
In Madrid- the best freebie English language magazine anywhere abroad (taking note Metropolis?????!!!!)

Here is an article that ties into teaching in Spain.

Alex, thanks for the nod to our warning article.
TransitionsAbroad’s article on freelancing is really good - very thorough. We have something of a follow up to it with our 18 steps freelancing or private English classes too, which provides specific solutions to some of the issues outlined on TransitionsAbroad and good tips on collecting/creating materials.
And yep, that is the easiest way to come up with a blog post - manually filter the crap out of a google search.

True the name is long, but the house really is old. Will be changing to focus of the blog more and more towards teaching here in Spain but forgive the occasion rant about the craziness of Spanish politics not to mention setting up and buying a place here.
It could be argued that you should be versed in a little of which before you step into an Adult learner class here in Spain. Simply to be aware of which side of the nasty political fence your learners lie and tailor your words and readings accordingly.
Thanks for the link!
