TEFLing quote of the day

“Harder than grad school, more nerve wracking than exam time, more warping than a CIA-experiment-gone-wrong.”

Find out what it is here.

It’s just occured to me that the way I use the page splitter thingy and hyperlinks is basically just eliciting blog-style. This will go down on the list of signs that “You’ve been TEFLing too long when…” (…everything on your blog is eliciting etc.) that is the next post I’m working on. As being able to copy stuff off other people’s blogs all the time has made me very lazy about writing anything myself, if anyone else has some “You know you’ve been TEFL teaching for too long when…” ideas I can steal for it, bring them on…

you know you’ve been in the job too long when:

you raise your hand to your ear, little finger and thumb sticking out when you ask a mate to call you..

you’re tempted to correct your friend’s grammar esp. there’s vs there are…

you find yourself answering simple questions with “I think there are three reasons for that. Firstly…”

eliciting from your friends…e.g.”what can beggars not be?” worse would be thinking it’s witty.

catch yourself talking like an old high school teacher: “I think you can, hur, hur!” when a student asks if they can go to the loo…
