I've just come back from the British Esperanto Congress, attended by people from ten countries. Esperanto is an emerging language, but catching on at great speed. See for example    http://craig-in-nepal.blogspot.com/2007/11/friendly-people-friendly-language.html

I think that ELF wish shortly mean "Esperanto as a lLingua Franca.</description>
