Personally, I've found the quality improving because of the huge increase in options and choices. Even Pearson-Longman, despite their cost cutting moves, has recently published some wonderful books such as the Longman Dictionary series. 

Finally, the publishing industry seems to have discovered that millions of people want to learn English - even non-traditional educational publishing companies. That bodes well for independent learners and thinkers!</description>
