New anti-TEFL scam Facebook group
Nice to see some kind of variation on the TEFL blacklist model- the change in technology makes the repetition of the same old complaints slightly less tedious for a while. I predict it will all end in tears. You can follow its attempt to get added to Best TEFL Soap Opera Part Two here:

It’s a new face but the story is still the same…
Some guy nominated mediakids and TEFL International. Debatable but nothing new.
pretty soon someone will be posting the old black list sites, etc etc…
what I find somewhat interesting though is that there are a lot of people reporting these scam organizations but hardly see anything from the other side.
Either they can’t or don’t care or everyone’s btching about the organization and they do try to defend themselves but it just keeps getting buried… i dunno…

Completely agree with you there Johnny.
The internet is a terrible place, really. You seldom see anything good from ANY company whatsoever and all the googling you will do will yield nothing but disgruntled people flaming about.
I’d like to see these ‘blacklist’ sites do more than just brand a bad name on schools and follow up if these schools have shaped up.

I just visited that site and could not actually see anything interesting.
As far as TEFL International goes, its pretty straightforward.
Any student with a complaint should come to me directly.
If they still feel they were not handled fairly they should take the matter up with the BBB.
Only 10 cases have gone to the BBB.

Out the 10 cases, how many actually received money back?

In addition to Bruce’s suggestions, here are two more:

Consider taking the case to small claims court:
