Cutting Edge Upper Int Mini Review
Cutting Edge Upper Intermediate
This textbook was the first to attempt to turn Task-Based Learning into a course, and also lives up to its name with the importance given to collocation and providing comprehensible input. Although speaking tasks have become a standard part of textbooks since then, this remains the most ambitious in terms of having everything in the unit tied together in a two (sometimes three!) page task at the end. Whilst the tasks are often not based on the most interesting and realistic topics, and in matters like use of native speakers as models it does not necessarily follow the latest thinking on TBL, this remains the best way for a teacher or class wanting or needing to break out of the traditional PPP model to experiment with something different.
