New Editions Theatrical Readers mini review

New Editions Theatrical Readers
Not really ‘readers’ at all, as children couldn’t really make much sense of them if they took them home to read on their own, and also too disjointed (and possibly the wrong age-group) to use as a storybook in class. What these really can be used for is as a resource to set up a class play, which is suggested as a use but is in fact what they are best at- with large pictures with many characters that could easily be used as stage settings, and songs on the enclosed CD. As the story is written as a book rather than a script, the performance will either need to be done ‘voiceover’ style, or the class could perhaps write a script themselves. Original idea, anyway, for those with a lot of class time.
