Although this book does not always make clear what the links between the various things that make up Discourse Analysis are (the mind maps I made when studying from this book were a right mess), and it’s not the lightest book to read, it is the most in-to-depth book available that someone that has no previous knowledge of the subject could get a grip on. It also keeps the language teacher firmly in mind, so always seems relevant to your teaching situation.
