For what is basically a vocab practice book on a not-naturally-interesting subject, this book doesn’t do a bad job of providing interest and variety. As well as the obvious ‘put the words in the correct space’ and ‘match the word to the definitions’ exercises, there are written dialogues where experts explain difficult terms to laymen and reading texts with the important vocab underlined. This is the best book available if you have a student who needs very specific vocabulary on topics such as bonds or central banking, and the mini-dictionary at the back is very useful when you don’t understand the jargon any more than they do! This book is not really suitable for pre-experience students, though, as it doesn’t spend much time on the basic concepts.
