For those of you who haven’t been on the Worksheet pages yet (although surely no one would waste their time reading the blog when they could save planning time by using the worksheets??) and the many more of you who are going to end up here after the error messages because I’ve shortened lots of html names (because good names are good apparently), here is where the worksheets are now:

By a superhuman struggle with the technology that I can not even understand, let alone reproduce, the TEFL.net editor has made it possible to put PDF and Word files on the Worksheets page, and if I can stop myself starting a new blog everyday in the near future I will do precisely that.

The first worksheet available in not one but two formats is the latest Friends video worksheet of mine I believe I have been trying to get you all to use before- Friends Series One New Year Episode (the one with the monkey).

Also a (less personal) thank you to PDFonline, which is an amazingly quick and totally free way of converting Word documents to PDF worksheets that I stumbled on.

Bored of Xmas before it’s even arrived as usual, so here comes with the New Year theme ones instead:

Looking for TEFL Xmas activities is like writing the list of presents you want from Santa- once you start there seems to be no end…

Don’t know how and when it happened, but no kids’ classes at all this year so had no chance to see their happy and snotty little faces when doing the lessons below, but WiseHat lessons are usually very stimulating for both teacher and students, very occassionally in a slightly odd way! (more…)

Have got plenty of new worksheets up at Usingenglish.com  , have added a whole bunch of TEFLtasticly multimedia song worksheets for teaching and practising grammar to my video worksheets (more to come of both of these), and have been rearranging the mini reviews on the reviews page so that they are a little easier to find. Have also somehow found time to teach my classes, in fact sometimes it’s a nice break to get away from the computer screen and into class! That is, until I think of another nice worksheet I could type up for the next class…

As I mentioned below, am planning on getting all the video worksheets I have written over the years up on the Worksheets part of the blog. All the first bunch I put up a few days ago use a nice little technique I either created or borrow (can’t remember which now) for pre-teaching vocab and making sure the students notice how it is being used in context and have the meaning reinforced, while at the same time practising the use of expressions like “one” and “it” for refering to things elsewhere, a skill that comes up in reading a lot and is also specifically tested in one of the Cambridge exams (CPE?? Again, slipped my mind I’m afraid). Sounds boring, but actually means teacher and students have a good excuse for watching Frasier, Edward Scissorhands, The Life of Brian and Friends in class.

I think I feel another spurt of worksheets coming on, this time starting with a whole new page of EFL video worksheets. Feedback gratefully accepted, apart from on sorting out the fact you have to copy and paste into Word to use them, as the technicalities are beyond me…
